SUKH DUKH KE SATHI CELEBRATED WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY

Sukh Dukh Ke Sathi Sanstha of Dwarka celebrated World Environment Day on 5th June 2017 in DDA park behind Maneesh Mall, Sector-22, Dwarka. Famous environmentalist and social workder Ramesh Mumukshu delivered a impressive speech on worsening environmental conditions and need of the day. Other speakers also stressed that even a small effort put by each person can go a long way in saving the environment. The youth, children, elderly people, male, female - everybody can contribute to save the environment just by taking small precautions in their daily life like saving water and electricity, avoiding use of polythene, tree plantation & kitchen gardening, proper disposal of domestic waste, minimal use of cars and so on so forth. Everyone felt that such functions should be undertaken more often as such drives inculcate sense of responsibility towards environment, particularly in younger generations.

A glorious painting competition of children was also organized on this occasion. Main focus in this competition was on the children of weaker class of the society. Sixty children participated in this competition, including grand children of SDKS members. Shri Mumukshu inspired the children and distributed prizes to the winners. Dy. Director (DDA Horticulture) was also present on this occasion. Consolation prizes were also given to all other children. Few children demonstrated an ear catching martial art show.

The celebration ended with tree plantation by eminent guests as the Sanstha has evolved it as a tradition to start its annual tree plantation drive on World Environment Day ending on its inception day on 19th September each year, followed bu vote of thanks and refreshment. The concern of participants regarding the flora and fauna of our planet was very reassuring. People gathered in the function from various walks of life pledged their support in this function to make the surroundings more eco friendly.
