The Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony of Venkateshwar International School, Sector-10, Dwarka was held on 16th July 2016. The occasion was graced by the esteemed Chief Guest, Dr. Huma Masood, National Programme Officer, UNESCO, Hon’ble Chiarman Shri Rajpal respected Vice Chairman Mr. Kamal Solanki and parents of the prize winners. Students were felicitated for their exemplary performance in academic achievements in the year gone by.
The function commenced with the auspicious lamp lighting ceremony to the harmonious accompaniment of shlokas. The Chief Guest was accorded a floral welcome by the honourable school Director, Ms. Mrinalini Kaura. The Director then addressed the august gathering and apprised them of the outstanding result of class XII in the CBSE exams. This was followed by an impressive Nukkad Natak and celebration dance by the students which set the mood for the morning.
The first segment of the award function began with the Director’s and Chairman’s Awards for Academic Excellence in CBSE XII boards. The second segment of awards constituted the Director’s Awards, Chaudhary Jeet Ram Awards, Jhanjee Awards and VISMUN Awards. These were followed by a mesmerizing performance by the group of girls in a Ballet on ‘Women Empowerment’ and a dance by Primary students encouraging citizens to ‘Go Green’. The ‘peace dance’ brought the audience to their feet and captivated them with a scintillating performance. The Chief Guest’s address was on a congratulatory note lauding the sincere efforts of the school and teachers in ensuring holistic development of students – which, after all is the true aim of education. The programme ended with the vote of thanks proposed by the school Head Boy and Head Girl – followed by the National Anthem.
