R.D.Rajpal School, Dwarka, celebrated e’clat 2014, its Annual Function in a grand way on Saturday, 22nd November in the school premises, which was marked by the massive participation of 1950 students. The glittering lights and the beautifully decorated pathways had turned the premises into a world of fantasy.
The ceremonial lamp was lighted by the Chief Guest, Mr. Vijay Kumar, IAS, CEO, Delhi Jal Board, Mrs. Veena Tandon, Deputy Director of Education. The Annual Report presented by Principal Mrs. Alka Kshatriya highlighted the milestone achievements of the students in the academic, co- curricular and sports fields .The account of the success story of the School which included the commendable Board examination result and Championship Trophies proved that the School is well on its way to scaling heights of glory.
The ballet ‘A Trip to the World of Fantasy’ by junior school children took the audience to the magical world of Princesses and Fairies, Mermaids, Tarzan and Aladdin and his Genie. It was followed by the Prize Distribution Function in which more than 250 students were honored for their meritorious achievements. It was thrilling to see International, National, State and Zonal level winners receiving their trophies. Special awards of Rs. 5100/- each were given to Nisha Yadav of class XI and Kaushiki Sharma of class IV by Chairman, Mr. Ishwer Rajpal, President Mr. Subhash Rajpal for their victory at State and National level. Around 1800 students participated in the event and were appreciated by an audience of 4000 people.
The Chief Guest, Mr. Vijay Kumar, IAS, CEO, Delhi Jal Board, in his speech, spoke highly about the high standards achieved by R.D. Rajpal School. He wanted the students of today to take up environment protection as their mission. Mrs. Veena Tandon, Deputy Director of Education also praised the efforts taken by the students in preparing such a wonderful programme.
The senior school students, through a ballet, ‘Heaven on Earth’ showed how youth can bring about solutions to exploitation of natural resources by man for his selfish needs. The idea of goddesses incarnating on Earth to guide man who has strayed from the right path was quite novel and appealing. The fact that heaven can be brought on earth through human efforts was highlighted in the grand finale also.
