On 7th October, 2013, Maxfort School, Dwarka in its endeavour to incorporate holistic development in the students celebrated ‘PLAYONS’ its Annual Day , at SRV Auditorium with great exuberance. It was a grand celebration with immense exhilaration and hurried activities visible all around. The Chief Guest of Honour for the occasion was Mr. Vineet Joshi, IAS, CBSE Chairman, who along with other dignitaries graced the event.
The programme commenced with the auspicious lighting of lamp followed by an inspirational song sung by the students of class IX with great gusto and national fervor. A mesmerizing cultural show grabbed the attention of the audience. More than 500 students from classes VI-XII , dressed in colourful attire participated and delighted the audience with an assortment of performances.
The students of class VIII enthralled the audience by enacting the play ‘The Tempest’, written by the most popular playwright ‘William Shakeapeare’, portraying the journey of a king and his daughter to a magical island. An additional highlight of the evening was enactment of the narrative ‘The Blue Umbrella’ an adaptation of Ruskin Bond’s story, accentuating the most vital lesson of life not to react impulsively.
Apart from plays, the children performed an unusual array of dance and songs. Dance presentations by the students of classes V, VI and X added charm to the spectacular evening. In order to showcase the performance of the students a musical extravaganza was presented. The students of class XI sang the school anthem “I Want The World’.
The school Director Ms. Deepa Kumar, who is a guiding force behind the school shared her vision about the philosophy of education and how the students are equipped at Maxfort to acclimatize and thrive in a rapidly changing world.
The Head of the School, Ms. Priyanka Bhatkoti highlighted the importance of effective presentation skills which are required in every field and how Maxfort School aids the learners to develop their presentation skills to move out confidently in society. She also motivated the parents to strengthen creativity in students so that they are gainfully employed in future.
Our guiding light and school mentor Dr. V.K.Gautam emphasized on the significance of education and the opportunities given to young Maxfortians to move out as responsible citizens of the country. The Chief Guest of Honour, Mr. Vineet Joshi appreciated the conducive learning environment at Maxfort and addressed the august gathering. He congratulated the students’ efforts for putting up a great show.
Overall, the programme was manifestation of the holistic development the students are receiving under the shade of Maxfort School, Dwarka .The event concluded with vote of thanks and national anthem sung by the gathering.
