On 6th August 2011, ANHLGT members met MCD Commissioner Mr. K.S. Mehra and other senior officials of MCD in sector-23, Dwarka along with Mr. Rajesh Gahlot Ex-Deputy Mayor Delhi, Councillor and DDA Executive Board member.
At about 8 AM ANHLGT members pointed out various difficulties faced by residents in sector-23 and other sectors of Dwarka due to the lack of proper functioning of MCD in Dwarka. It was pointed out that there was a shortage of sweepers because of which some of the streets have not been swept and not been cleaned for years.
The commissioner assured the president of ANHLGT Mrs. Cicily Kodiyan that prompt action will be taken in this regard. He also instructed Deputy Commissioner of Najafgarh zone to look into the matter and provide all relevant phone numbers of officials to the citizens. The commissioner along with Mr. Rajesh Gahlot made a round of sector-23 along with the MCD officials and visited the areas in which sweeping has not been done for years together. They especially met with residents and management of Ramakrishna society who has been facing this issue. The commissioner assured that they will look into the issues of garbage collection by DMSWL and make sure that everything works in orderly fashion. ANHLGT members along with its president thanked MCD commissioner and all the officials along with Shri Rajesh Gahlot for making this round with MCD and raising the citizen’s awareness level with respect to MCD level.
