SHIFT THIS WINE SHOP NEAR SCHOOL AND SOCIETIES

In contradiction of the rules that no wine shop should be given licence within the 100 yards of a school, a wine shop has been opened in sector 6 Post Office market few years ago. About this, the Managements of nearby societies have complained during the recent police-public meet after that the police has taken swift action and is posting some cops in the evening regularly. But this is not a permanent solution as the police can only post cops regularly at the cost of ignoring law and order in the sub-city and increasing snatching cases due to shortage of staff for long.

Prior to this, numerous wine-purchasers used to drink in front of the shop and the owner was never seen objecting to this. In the evening, the nearby DDA Herbal park becomes a paradise for drinkers, smokers and druggists. Near the wine shop, Safal vegetable and mother dairy outlests exist and the women are scared to go to these shops fearing lewd comments and misbehaviour by drinkers. Due to the long staying of the vehicles of wine-drinkers on the sides of the roads and side walls, the situation of traffic jam is created. Due to this, the water tankers are unable to fill the water tanks of the nearby societies in front of this shop from the rear gate as water tankers of some Societies including Sahara are on the back-side. One can very well imagine the life without water in this scorching heat. Now, these societies plan to write to Delhi govt. for shifting of this shop.

Residents demand a police post near this spot till the wine shop is not shifted. Residents also allege that this shop has been licensed ignoring the rules.
