So far, Postal Department was liable to pay compensation in respect of Domestic Speed Post articles in case of loss / total theft / total damage or late delivery. Although, the process of claiming the compensation was too cumbersome to take the claim yet the Deptt. has silently withdrawn even that also. As per the information available on its revised website, from now, it will compensate only for International EMS articles booked in Post Officers in India. This may trigger the private courier companies to follow suit and the delivery boys may now feel more comfortable (careless) in delivering these items.
