In Service Teachers Training Program held at N.K. Bagrodia Public School

Professional development is about life-long learning and growing as an educator. It is an important part of creating a culture of continuous improvement to maximize students’ holistic development. N.K. Bagrodia Public School, Dwarka is committed to the continued progress and involvement of all educators so that they can constantly improve their skills and become more proficient in the profession. In Service Training program for Teachers was organized from 14th May, 2018 to 17th May, 2018 in the school premises. The program was organized to update teachers about new-child centric teaching methodologies, meet challenges of educational reforms, and learn innovative subject enrichment activities and classroom management strategies for special need children. Our customized teacher training program focused on improving the quality of teaching-learning process, so that students achieve increasing level of proficiency. 

Multifarious workshops were organized for the facilitators, in the school. These included: Fitness exercises for teachers by Dr. Shilpi Singh, Yoga by Mr. Sunil Singh and Stress Free Living by Art of Living.

Subject based workshops by Renowned Experts were held to upgrade the content knowledge and pedagogical skills of teachers. Workshop on ‘Writing without Tears’ was conducted by Mrs. Satinder Kaur Singh, Headmistress, N K Bagrodia Public School, Dwarka. The workshop focused on developing fine motor skills of children in order to make their pencil grasping correct. Various strategies to improve student’s writing skills were also discussed.

Creative workshops were organized to gain fresh ideas to liven up classrooms and to apply creativity into different subjects. Resource Persons from different organizations like DOMS explained importance of different colour techniques, Ms. Alka Gauba from NIE taught interesting Paper Craft works, Ms. Vandana Gupta an Art Expert made beautiful masks and puppets that can be used as interesting teaching aids by teachers. The experts helped teachers to enhance their creative skills.

Motivational Workshop on ‘Failure is the First Step to Success’ was conducted by Principal Dr. (Mrs) Rajee N Kumar. The workshop highlighted the need of guiding the students how to master fear of failure and to know the actual meaning of SUCCESS. 'Teachers as innovative mentors' workshop was conducted by Mr Kamalneet Singh from Promise Group. The aim of the workshop was to help educators to hone the skills and techniques that can be incorporated in teaching methodologies for better classroom management. Workshop on ‘Professional Etiquettes and Presentation skills’ was conducted by Ms Saadia Rahman. The workshop was engaging and interesting and emphasized on imbibing professional etiquettes as these help in working professionally, maintaining proper manners and engaging with colleagues in a spirit of cooperation and respect.

Professional Development Training helped teachers to become better at planning and staying organized. It enabled them to expand their knowledge base in different subjects in today’s changing world of ever-emerging technologies. Educators found the training program very insightful, inspiring, informative and engaging.
