The International Federation for Modern Languages and Literatures (FILLM) is the official international body which represents the study of language and literature as research-based scholarly disciplines in universities and tertiary higher education institutions world-wide.FILLM is part of the UNESCO pyramid of international associations which seek to represent intellectual and cultural endeavour on a global basis.
FILLM is holding its 27th triennial Congress for the first time in India at India International Centre, New Delhi. The theme of the Congress is The Familiar and the Exotic in Language and Literature: The Politics of Perception and Representation. The keynote speaker is Prof. Elleke Boehmer from Oxford University.
Margaret R.Higonnet (Professor-University of Connecticut & Global President-FILLM Congress) Dr.Tom Clark (Secy.Gen.Global President-FILLM Congress) Dr. Meenakshi Bharat (Lecturer-Venkateshwar College, DU & President-FILLM Congress-India), Prof. Geoff Hall(Dean, The University of Nottingham-China), Prof.Dr.Adams Bodomo (V.P.-Global FILLM Congress), Prof.Satish Aikant (Retd.Prof.Garhwal University) & Riccarda Chanda (Head of Human Security, Culture & Legal Affairs)-Embassy of Switzerland graced the congress with their presence during 27th FILLM Congress held in IIC. The next or 28th FILLM Congress will be held at University of Vienna, Austria in 2020.
