N.K.Bagrodia Public School organized Sankalp Sahodaya Model United Nations on Jan 20, 2017 . The young student delegates from many prominent schools of Dwarka participated in the mega event.The committee held for the session was HUMAN RIGHTS COUNCIL. The agenda of the session was “Preserving the Rights to life & Liberty and violation of these by the extremist groups across the Globe” .
The event was inaugurated with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp.The Student General Secretary wished the young delegates for a wonderful session and gave away few good tips to the first timers. The session showed a great discussion on the agenda and the young student delegates put their best points forward and made the entire session full of enthusiasm. The event of Sankalp Sahodaya Model United Nations became more special because of the presence of the International Chinese delegation who accompanied the honourable chief guest of the day Mr Dhirendra Bhatnagar, General Secretary CUCAI. The delegation comprised of 21 members that included 15 students and 6 teachers from Fengtai Children’s Palace & Youth Activity Center, Bejing, China. The delegation was garlanded in a true Indian traditional manner .The Chinese students first of all visited the Junior wing and were mesmerized to see the Chinese Dragon dance and several class activities presented by the tiny tots. The delegation tried their hands in the Art room of the School where they learnt Indian Art & Craft by making a best out of Waste artefacts in the Art & Craft Class. The next activity the young Chinese Delegation witnessed were the enthralling dance performances by the Bagrodians in the Dance class who also taught them various Indian dance mudras. The students also showcased various Yoga Asanas giving the message of age old tradition of India . The Chinese Delegation were also shown how to do quick calculations using Vedic maths in the maths lab by the students. Maths projects & models presented by the students during the Maths activity conducted in the Maths Lab.
The Closing ceremony of the Sankalp Sahodaya Model United Nations was graced by the honourable chief guest of the day Mr Dhirendra Bhatnagar, General Secretary CUCAI & the International delegation from China. The event began with the floral welcome of the dignitaries. The young Bagrodians presented a melodious UN song highlighting the importance of World Peace. The students showcased the beautiful culture of India & China through a PPT. The students of middle wing performed an enthralling dance performance from Myanmar & Nepal that included the message of Peace & harmony. The attraction of the closing ceremony was the fabulous cultural program presented by the Chinese delegation which included beautiful dances , Musical instrumental displays & their famous martial arts. The event was concluded with the prize distribution of the Sankalp Sahodaya Model United Nations. The Best Delegate prize was bagged by Arkin Tyagi representing Switzerland from Maxfort School , The High Commendation prize was bagged by Chirag Sharma representing UK from Venkateshwara International School,Sec-10, Dwarka & The Best position paper prize was bagged by Dewam Kaushik & Anushka Jha representing Netherland from St Mary’s School. The Committee HUMAN RIGHTS COUNCIL successfully passed the resolution by stating the need of protecting the Human Rights defenders & stressing on the need providing the Humanitarian aid by the United Nations. The grand finale of Sankalp Sahodaya Model United Nations was organized at Maxfort School Dwarka on Jan 21, 2017 where all the five Co hosts schools presented a beautiful cultural program & the winners of the event of all the Co host schools presented their thoughts related to their Committee & shared their personal experiences. The gala ceremony was concluded by the Flag of March with the spirit & the motto of United Nations to live in peace and to project the thought of perfect partnership in all the future endeavors.
