Shahnaz Husain to launch Beauty Training School for students of Delhi Blind School


Ever since she forayed into the beauty business some five decades ago, Shahnaz Husain has inspired countless people all over the globe to be self reliant by getting skilled in various beauty and wellness courses.

During her recent visit to the Delhi Blind School situated at the Lal Bahadur Shastri Marg, New Delhi, she was highly impressed to see the students enthusiastically engaged in various vocational activities such as soap making, candle and diya making, stitching, book binding, paper craft, chair caning, acupressure, packaging etc. While every moment spent at the Blind School was truly cherishing, what really touched Shahnaz’s heart was when the students used voice activated mobile phones to take ‘selfies’ with her.

Terming the ‘selfie’ pictures taken by the students as the ‘Picture of the Decade’, she lauded the students for all their passion and positive approach towards life.

Buoyed by their positive outlook towards life, Shahnaz announced her plans of launching a new beauty training school for the students in the premises of the Blind School. With an objective of empowering the students to be financially independent, Shahnaz shared her plans of not just offering free of cost beauty training skills, but also promised Shamute and Shasight diplomas respectively for the speech and hearing, as well as the visually challenged students. Drawing a loud applause from the students and the staff, she assured them of all possible help and cooperation from her organization. What has been really commendable has been her initiative of writing a beauty book, which has been put into Braille.

Noted educationist and crusader Dayanand Vats while lauding the initiative of the India’s Legendary Beauty Ambassador said, “This adds another feather in the cap of Shahnaz Husain who is known not only for promoting Ayurveda in the beauty and wellness segment, but has carved a distinctive niche for herself as a result of her remarkable altruistic projects. The news of Shahnaz Husain launching a new beauty training institute for the visually impaired coincides with the ‘National Girl Child Day’ celebrations held every year on 24th of January as a ‘National Observance Day’ for the Girl Child. This celebration was started to offer more supports and new opportunities to the girls in the country. The National Girl Child Day was started as a National Girl’s Development Mission by the Government of India. I wish Shahnaz all the best in all her noble endeavours and pray for her long and healthy life.”
