Anil Shastri, the former Union Minister and Chairman, Board of Governors, LBSIM- detailed the placement and profile of company who visited LBSIM this year.

Director Dr. Arya Kumar in his report highlighted the achievements of the last academic year and presented the details of this year’s placements.

The placement coordinator Dr. Alok Pandey briefed that “specialization wise, consulting took the lead (25%), followed by marketing and sales (20%), IT enabled services (15%), Banking &Finance (15%) and others were 25% this year.

“The average salary package this year was Rs 8.3 Lakh as compared Rs7.9 lakh last year and the highest was Rs 17 Lac per annum as compared to Rs 15.05 lakh per annum last year .However, we see that, unlike what happened 5 years back, students are more concerned about the profile than pay package.”

Director Dr. Arya Kumar said, “For the first time ever, almost 100 percent campus placement of its students for the passing batch of 2015-1016 has taken place much before all its students have finished their courses, but several companies out of 77 that visited the LBSIM campus for recruitment had to return empty handed because it turned out to be a ‘house full’ situation for them. Out of 77 companies, the lead sector this year was consulting, research and analytics skills – big data – was the most sought after sector in placement, wherein last year’s tie up with IBM helped.”

Recognizing LBSIM’s competency in the financial sector, reputed MNCs like D.E. Shaw & Co., Deloitte, PWC, Marsh India, Jardine Lloyd Thompson and EY etc. offered coveted job profiles. Domestic banks also made their presence felt with IndusInd Bank, DCB Bank, Janlakshmi Bank etc. by offering jobs to students from LBSIM.

Ever since Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management was established by the Lal Bahadur Shastri  Educational Society in 1995, it has emerged as one of the foremost business schools in the country based on the ideals and vision of value based education held by the ex-Prime Minister of India, late LalBahadurShastri. Based solely on CAT exams, about 300 students join LBSIM each year paying modest fees, and it has earned the distinction of ensuring hundred percent placements year after year.
