Bihar’s Swasti Nitya is the winner of Zee TV’s Best Dramebaaz

Capturing the hearts of audiences worldwide and emerging as the slot leader in the weekend primetime band, the second season of Zee TV’s children's acting talent hunt show - India's Best Dramebaaz announced its winner at its Grand Finale telecast on Sunday, 6th March. In what turned out to be an intense, nail-biting finish, Swasti Nitya was declared as a winner by the judges Sonali Bendre, Vivek Oberoi and Sajid Khan. The glitzy finale saw the comedy king Kapil Sharma and the rockstar performer Mika Singh regaling the viewers in their trademark styles. The lethal combination of the charming duo of Ravi Dubey & Rithvik Dhanjani kept the talented brat pack as also the judges & audiences in great spirits with their sparkling wit and infectious energy as hosts. The winner, in addition to the coveted trophy, walked away with a cheque of Rs 5 Lakhs.

The Grand Finale marks the end of the most dramatic journey for 16 dramebaazes who dazzled your TV screens with performances that established that talent is inversely proportionate to age. Swasti, a 11 year old bundle of talent from Bhagalpur, Bihar is a perfect example of a refined & versatile performer, who can get into the skin of any character with finesse. Having received great appreciation for her acting ability andlovely expressions from the judges, Swasti is determined to go a long way with her passion and perseverance. Right since her auditions where she left the judges speechless with her performance of Rani Mukerji’s iconic deaf and mute character from Black to effortlessly pulling off all the acts week after week with great flourish, she shone like a true blue star on the show! She was viewed by the judges as a complete entertainer, a mature performer and hence a hot contender for the trophy.

The little dynamite, much appreciated for her stage presence and natural acting skills, at this tender age, proved her intensity & versatility by portraying gripping, emotionally charged acts, ranging from hard hitting mythological characters to light hearted comical acts. Her stints as Paro, Sudha Chandran, Abhimanyu, Duryodhan, Parvati, Queen, Gujarati lover, Ram, and a deaf-mute mother amongst other noteworthy acts were lauded by the judges and have established her as a heavy-duty actor on the show. Sharing her excitement,Swasti says “I am extremely happy to win this trophy today. It is like a dream come true for me to perform on the stage of India’s Best Dramebaaz and emerge as a winner of Season 2. I gave my best to each performance on the stage. Judges and audiences have been really supportive and have appreciated my performances. My mentors have worked hard on me throughout the season in overall grooming to make me a well-rounded, versatile actor. It’s been an enriching journey as with each performance I have learnt to grasp the finer nuances and capture the detailing of every character”.

Judge Sonali Bendre shares “Right since her auditions Swasti has grown by leaps and bounds and evolved with her uninhibited performances. I always had high expectations from her whenever she came on stage. She has grace and proved herself to be a versatile actor by impressing one and all with her command over different styles of acting and amazing confidence. I wish her all the best for future!"

Judge Sajid Khan says “Heartiest congratulations to Swasti. I am impressed by her maturity as a performer, she always embodies the character she is playing. She nailed it with her finale act and compelled me to say that she's a winner! Guided by the able mentors, this kid presented acts one could never have imagined children to be capable of delivering.. With the theme for the Grand Fianale being ‘Awards Night’ where along with the winner of the season, other contestants who have shone in the series for specific talents were also awarded in various categories.
