Kamal Institute of Higher Education and Advance Technology organized a Seminar on “Road Safety measures”


Road safety is a multi-sectoral and multi-dimensional subject .It includes orderly development and management of roads, provisions of safer vehicles, and a comprehensive response to accidents, understanding the need of road safety measures. Kamal Institute of Higher Education and Advance Technology, Mohan Garden, New Delhi Affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi. organized a seminar on the same context “Ride safe India” on 30th Sep 2015 at 11am .It was chaired by Various eminent speakers such as Mr. Vijay Singh(Sub-Inspector), Mr. Sunil Malhotra (Senior Manager, Hero Motorcorp), Mr. Gaurav Arora (Zonal Safety Manager Hero Moto Corp), Mr Amit (Marketing Manager,Hero MotorCorp), Shri V. P. Tandon Ji (Chairman, Kamal Institute), Dr. S. R. Madan (Director General, Kamal Institute) and Dr J. S. Gujral (Director, Kamal Institute).

Mr. Vijay Singh discussed about the importance of human life and how being a little more cautious can avoid lethal mishaps. His speech included various informative measures such as respecting zebra crossing, girls should move in groups and show aggression whenever using subways, always overtake from right side, Mr. Singh also shared the systematic division of Delhi roads that is extreme left lane for heavy vehicles, middle lane for cars and scooters and extreme right lane for emergency vehicles such as Ambulance and vehicles taking turns He also talked about various documents one needs to keep while driving such as Registration certificate, Driving license ,Pollution Certificate and vehicle insurance papers one needs to keep while driving .He also invited suggestions from students and teachers for better traffic system.

Next speaker Mr. Sunil Malhotra shared basic things to be kept in mind while on road such as using only steelbird ISI 4151 helmets ,covering self with gloves and jackets when riding bikes, wearing seat belts while using four wheelers and using anti-scratch and anti-glare wiser. He also showed certain videos which worked as an eye opener to students and it made them believe that how important it is to respect Traffic rules.

Mr. Gaurav Arora discussed about the safety rules on road and assessing others move is more important at times. He also played a game with students depicting the real life situation of road. Mr. Arora showed various graphs showing the trend of accidents and the most accident prone timings are between 9:00 pm to 12:00 am.

Dr J. S. Gujral summarized with vote of thanks and congratulated the team for conducting Road Safety Seminar, which was educative and impressive. Our Chairman Shri V. P. Tandon Ji also thanked the team for organizing such an event in our Institute.
