After the announcement that Namit Das would play the role or Sumit in STAR Plus’s upcoming show Sumit Sambhal Lega, everyone has been curious as to who would play the character of his wife. To put all speculation to rest, Manasi Parekh Gohil has finally been locked down for the character Maya Walia. The show which is slated to go on air sometime in August, will highlight the predicament of every married man in today’s time – the pain of being stuck in the tug-of-war between his wife and mother.
Manasi, who first rose to fame for her role in India Calling was then later seen portraying the titular character of STAR Plus’s prime time show Gulaal. Sumit Sambhal Lega, the official adaptation of globally popular sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond is her big comeback to television!
An integral part of the show, Manasi will portray a strong, independent character – Maya Walia, married to the protagonist Sumit Walia played by actor Namit Das. Manasi’s character Maya is a woman of today’s time and is not a typical TV housewife who doesn’t know the world outside.
Manasi shared, “Sumit Sambhal Lega was an instant choice for my comeback on Television as it fulfilled my condition of wanting to work on something different. I simply loved the concept of ‘Har Mard Ka Dard’ and think it is the story of almost everyone today.”
