MAY DAY celebrated in BalBhavan International School

International Workers' Day, also known as Labour Day in some places, is a celebration of labourers and the working classes that is promoted by the international labour movement, anarchists, socialists, and communists and occurs every year on May Day, 1 May, an ancient European spring holiday.

Labor Day was celebrated in BBIS to sensitize the students for the supporting staff often known as fourth grade employees, who began working before the day breaks and keep working through out. Students were also reminded that the sincerity behind the work does matter; no work is big or small. On this day the bright faces of BBIS performed a skit for the workers working in the school. All the sweepers, gatekeepers, peons etc. were called in the morning assembly which made them surprised. Students of classes XI performed a skit depicting daily schedule of the workers, which made them feel sentimental. The play also made each and every student realize that the person with any profession should be respected and honoured. The students also took the pledge that they would respect the workers.

The workers were then called upon the stage and presented by handmade cards made by the students, a rose and a gift from the management of the school. Being very humble and sentimental they expressed their views and wished students that they get success in future and fly high. They were offered lunch by the school management which made them feel very happy. This also showed the love towards them from the staff, management and the students. The main motive is that students should thank them and respect them for their contribution to the school.
