Power-Packed Performance on Annual Sports Day by N.K.B.P.S Dwarka

N. K Bagrodia Public School Dwarka moving higher on the ladder of excellence showcased ca spectacular “Annual Sports Day” on 22nd Novemeber 2014. The day unwrapped an array of athletic , yogic and other cultural events and activities showcasing the physical physical prowess and athletic acumen of young Bagrodians. Padma Shri Yogeshwar Dutt was the chief guest of the occasion who graced the events by his mere presence. Mrs Veena Tandon the deputy director of Education and Dr. Anil Kumar Kalkal who is the associate professor and Secretary of Delhi University Sports Council were the guests of honour. Mr. Lalit Mathur was the Special Guest for the event who is an international player.

The distinguished guests were accorded a floral welcome, presence of dignitaries Smt. Pushpa Devi Bagrodia ji , Chairperson of the school the management –Mr. K.K Dhanuka, Mr.Dinesh Kumar Gupta, Mr. Mahinder Aggarwal , Mr. R.K Paul Manager of the school Director of the school Mr. S.K Bhattacharya added to the grace and élan of the event. Before the commencement of grandiloquent celebration of the sports day lighting of the ceremonial lamp was performed by the chief guest, Guest of honors, respected chair person of the school along with the other dignitaries of the school to invoke blessings from almighty. The school Principal Dr.(Mrs) Rajee N Kumar presented the school report Highlight of her speech was the initiative taken by the school such as community reach program ,inclusive education etc. Principal also talked about the various cultural activities and events that were organized in the school which are a part of ISA Project, to name a few were RITMO (international Dance Competition), Street Fair, ECO Fair- an initiative by Bagrodians for waste management in school. Principal also very fondly shared her exuberant joy for the school being ranked amongst the top ten schools at all India Level for its Academic reputation and at 10/11 rank in Delhi and NCR for CBSE results. Event gained further momentum by the release of school magazine Oasis 2014-15 by the distinguished guests. Chief Guest Mr.Yogeshwar Dutt declared the meet open which was followed by the oath taking ceremony and the march past by the students of the four houses namely Aryabhatta, Siddhartha, Valmiki and Vivekanand. At this juncture school unveiled its mascot of Annual Sports Meet –the tiny humble honey Bee and with which commenced various track events such as 200 mts flat race for Boys and same event for girls which was followed by 400m Relay race girls and 400mts relay race for girls and last but not the least 200 mts hurdle race for boys. This was followed by kaleidoscopic cultural events which bemused and charmed every one by events like Duck Drill which was showcased by the students of class Ist, IInd and IIIrd. Wonders on Wheel –A Skating Display showcased the proficient acumen of students in skating. The young skaters presented various stunts on wheels including stunning moves from pair skating and dance skating. The chief Guests shared his vision and ideas about physical fitness and need of discipline and routine in one’s life to attain excellence. Event further gained momentum by Om –the yogic expression where students displayed varied asanas like suraya namaskar ,vyaghra asana and chakra asana. This was followed by the cultural program Bee-The Inspiration …..which depicted the theme of the event? There is lot to learn from these bees as they are the best team players. So the tiny taught of IV and V beautifully amalgamating these ideas presented a kaleidoscopic event unfurling the different facets acumen and skills of hardworking bees whose single minded dedication and skill can inspire all of us for perfect work management. Martial Art and fencing display captivated everybody’s attention. A Mass Drill reverberating with the inspirational message Koshish Karne Walon ki….enchanted and left the spectator spell bound. Scintillations with its fast aerobic moves and pace were hugely appreciated by the audience. Flexi-Time gymnastic with acrobaticians on the bicycle was the absolute show stopper of the event, which was the epitome of synchronization and precision.

The academic Topper scholars and achievers of the previous session were awarded with the coveted trophies and medals by the distinguished guests. The best House Trophy was bagged by Vivekananda which was followed up by Aryabhatta House which received runners up trophy.

The vote of thanks was offered by Manager of the school Mr. R.K Paul where he appreciated the arduous efforts and the able guidance of the Principal as with every passing year school is scripting new history of excellence. Amidst much pomp and fanfare the event reached its culmination which garnered much applaud and appreciation by the parents and the guests for the creative concept and arduous efforts by the entire bagrodian team.
