Cleanliness Drive at SVIS Dwarka

Sri Venkateshwar International School, Sec-18, Dwarka organized a cleanliness drive in Sector 10 market and adjoining areas, during the early morning hours on October 1, 2014. Students in large numbers along with their mentors participated in the drive. The students of Primary Wing with their indomitable and selfless service for the community started from the school . They were armed with brooms, garbage bags, etc.

They visited the market area of the locality and on a one to one level explained the importance of maintaining a clean environment in and around the place to the people. They emphasised that this is the best way to celebrate Gandhi Ji's birth anniversary.

Setting examples at such a tender age; they cleaned up the area and picked up plastic and paper that they found in the market. This they did with great enthusiasm. Some members from the public also joined them.

After experiencing this highly satisfying community service drive, students returned to the school. Senior students spread the message of peace and cleanliness, when they went to metro stations at Sector 12 and 10.

Their school bus carried the logo of peace and cleanliness for a good life. School Principal Ms Nita Arora and the Primary Coordinator Ms Renuka Chander were very involved in the drive.

Select students and mentors from Classes 9 to 12 took a pledge on second October to keep the mission alive. Hopefully, the young social workers instilled in others the feeling of community welfare.
