Republic Day Celebrated at The Indian Heights School


Students of The Indian Heights School, Sector 23, Dwarka, celebrated 65th Republic Day on January 24, 2014. The whole campus came alive with the spirit of patriotism.

Ms. Archana Narain, the Principal of the school hoisted the National Flag and released the tri-colour balloons. In her address to the school, she said that we should always be grateful to the soldiers who are guarding our boundaries. She told the students that we should do our utmost to maintain the glory of the Nation which can only happen if we uplift our life, change our mindset and rise above small petty issues. The students presented a melodious rendition of the National Song, Vande Matram, followed by a dramatic presentation of the lives of the soldiers of the Indian Armed Forces. The drama touched the hearts of one and all and made everyone take great pride in our country and in our soldiers. 

The highlight of the programme was a tableau on Delhi which depicted the Red Fort, Qutab Minar, India Gate, Amar Jawan Jyoti, Lotus Temple, Metro, Shera, mascot of the 12th Commonwealth Games and Aam Aadmi Party. It drew a lot of praise and admiration. The programme culminated with all singing “We shall overcome”. Students also shared their views on Democracy in an open forum. The day also saw the flag making competition and Preamble writing competition in all the classes. It was a memorable day etched in the minds of students and staff.
