Sub: No Maintenance of Flats in Peepal Appartments, Pocket E, Sector 17 Dwarka
Ref: My Letter dated 10th June 2013 which Fell on Deaf Ears
This is to draw your attention towards the poorly maintained DDA Flats in Sector 17 Pocket E. The buildings here are in a bad shape and pose a huge risk to the life and liberty of the residents.
* Sewage system is overflowing thus spreading filthy water all around added with foul smell. The residents are being compelled to live in a very unhygienic environment in the world class sub-city of Dwarka. .
* Peepal trees have grown at the base of the buildings and on terrace. This poses a direct threat to the building and thus the residents here. The trees as they grow will damage the building at a large level and any untoward accident may take place.
* The Buildings themselves have not been painted for years and the cement from walls has started falling off. At places, the water pipes, etc have come out and broken due to non-maintenance.
* There is nothing done in name of cleanliness and sweeping. The garbage is seen lying around especially in back lanes and in corners. The stair cases are also never cleaned.
In all, the residents of Peepal Apartments are living a much deteriorated life-style in so called world class sub-city of Dwarka, New Delhi. In times, where we are talking about advancement, here the citizens are living in a continuous risk to their lives from the DDA Flats buildings. Delhi Development Authority which claims to be building a better tomorrow is here negligently putting citizens; lives at risk. Will DDA take responsibility of any untoward accident that might occur in future due to non-maintenance of building? Please accept this letter as an acknowledgement that if any untoward incident takes place in Pocket E Sector 17 Dwarka, the DDA shall be solely responsible for the loss of property and human life, in any. DDA first used sub-standard quality material in construction of these flats and now is not ready to act on regular complaints of the residents. What prevents DDA from maintenance of the building on reference? Is DDA short of funds? If you say so, shall I initiate a donation drive to collect money for maintenance? Please provide details of the bank account where I can deposit the money collected through donation drive. Neither is the RWA interested in taking any concrete step in this direction even after repeated requests.
I am enclosing 6 colour photographs clicked yesterday (Sunday 25th August 2013) to show the sorry state of affairs at Pocket E Sector 17 Dwarka. Residents are living in these unsafe buildings at mercy of DDA Officials. DDA has put hundreds of lives in danger.
This is to request you to initiate immediate repair and maintenance work in the Peepal Apartments, Pocket E, Sector 17, Dwarka in general public interest. Also, if any of the above tasks are under jurisdiction of the RWA, please direct the RWA to get it done at the earliest possible.
DDA has been doing so much work in the NCT of Delhi then what prevents it from taking up simple maintenance of its own flats? It is a very sad state of affairs. I have heard you are a sincere and dedicated official and have recently joined as the Chief Engineer of Dwarka Zone. I look forward to some concrete action from your end to wake up the sleeping officials of your own department which your predecessors failed to do.
