For solving scarcity of water in Dark and the refusal of Delhi C.M. to give more water, Dwarkaites have taken to Gandhigiri. They have started sending SMS to the CEO, Delhi Jal Board on her mobile. The SMS’ contain following messages:

Water is Life, life is Fundamental Right. Thanks for refusing Fundamental Rights in Dwarka
WHO estimates that 88% of diseases are due to unsafe water supply, Thanks for contributing 88 % in Dwarka

Thanks for increasing Waterborne Diseases & Doctor Bill in Dwarka

Jal ke bina sajal aakhaun se apko dhanybad. Ise khusi ka aansoo mat samajhiye.

Thanks for not giving water to Dwarka, at least God is giving us few drops through our eyes.
"THANKS for not giving water to Dwarka and for the proposal of increasing water rates for Dwarka exclusively"

Thanks for not supplying enough water to Dwarka in Delhi and making us feel how important this commodity is.

The Mineral water/RO companies are blessing DJB for increasing their sales by not supplying the water in Dwarka

The Water tanker Mafia is praying for authorities long life, their business will flourish as long as there are no enough water supplies from DJB in Dwarka.
"THANKS for Supporting Mineral water company and Water Tanker System."
"THANKS for NOT giving water to Dwarka & THANKS for INCREASE in water rates"
THANKS for the DROPS of WATER we are getting in Dwarka.

It has been said that the residents will continue to send the SMS’ till the problem is solved.

Earlier, on this Sunday, they organized a Dharna to demand more water in which over 250 residents took part.

On 22nd Sept. 2012, a delegation of Dwarka Forum, a resident body, met with the Chief Minister, Sheila Dikshit on her residence demanding more water and early start of 750-bed hospital etc. During the meeting, CM expressed her inability to spare more water for Dwarka initially then told the delegation that she will look into this. At present, Govt. is supplying 3.5 mgd. Water to about 6-lakh residents and therefore, tanker mafia/Mineral and RO companies is doing brisk business. Dwarka pays Rs. 10.76 per kilo litre which is the highest in Delhi (rest of Delhi Pays Rs. 2.42), may be from rest of the country. Residents are also demanding transfer of water supply from DDA to Delhi Jal Board. M K Gupta of Dwarka Forum told that the Delhi govt. has paid crores of rupees to Haryana Govt. for the completion of Munak Canal on the assurance of its early completion. Also, about Rs. 800-crores have been spent on the Water Treatment Plant at Dwarka which is rusting. He said that it is strange that while in Delhi and Haryana failed to solve the small dispute between the two states even after forming GoM years ago.

On this, the Forum sought a meeting with the Lt. Governor but was told to contact the VC, CEO, Delhi Jal Board and others. DF says that when the CM has not been able to take any concrete action so far as the supply has not been increased even after 20 days, it is futile to meet any officer junior or under the Chief Minister who is also the Chairperson of the DJB. .
