East Bengal are Federation Cup champions

East Bengal 3 (Arnab Mondal 60th, Manandeep Singh 99th, Edeh Chidi 109th)
beat
Dempo SC 2 (Climax Lawrence 50th, Mahesh Gawli 113th)

East Bengal rediscovered their touch in the extra-time to down Dempo SC 3-2 and reclaimed the Federation Cup title that it had lost year ago, in front of a partisan crowd of around 35,000 at Siliguri’s Kanchanjungha Stadium. This was the eighth title for East Bengal which they won in 16 appearances in the final.

East Bengal dominated from the start but failed to convert the advantage into goals as Dempo put a defensive dragnet around the crowd favourite. Dempo scored the lead off Climax Lawrence before East Bengal recovered the deficit to force a 1-1 deadlock in the first 90 minutes of regulation time. Arnab Mondal scored the leveller for East Bengal. This forced the action into extra-time where East Bengal produced their best attacking game to end Dempo’s resistance. The win came as a welcome gift to the Kolkata giant’s British coach Trevor James Morgan, who turned 56 today.

The two halves of the regulation time were more about retention where both the opponents aimed more at containing each other. East Bengal earned more scoring opportunities but failed to finish the goalward moves except for Arnab’s goal, which the East Bengal central defender scored off a header from a Mehtab Hossain freekick. Dempo worked up the lead of a counter-attack when the East Bengal defender Saumik Dey produced a feeble clearance, which was reached Climax Lawrence. The Dempo central midfielder collected the ball inside the East Bengal box and found the net with powerful half-volley.

East Bengal pressed on the accelerator in the extra-time introducing its super-sub Lalrindika Ralte in the 91st minute. The young wing-half created added pace to the team’s attack and set off a through-pass for Orji Penn, but the latter’s hesitation inside the Dempo box spoiled the chance. Ralte, who scored the East Bengal winner in the semifinal against Churchill Brothers, fired a powerful grounder in the 99th that came off the Dempo goalkeeper Subhasish Roy Chowdhury. East Bengal Manandeep Singh tapped the rebound home to give East Bengal the lead.

Keeping up the thrust East Bengal made it 3-1 in the 109th minute, when Chidi scored from a solo effort getting a long ball from Manandeep. Dempo kept the action alive and reduced the margin off a header from Mahesh Gawli in the 113th minute but its search for the equaliser remained unrealised.

Dharna against WATER shortage in DWARKA

Revival of Animal Spirit in Governance !

Rakesh Manchanda

“Animal Spirit”, a new poster is flooding the print and electronic media today while painting stories on Good Governance. This is not an overnight discovery. Capitalist system today is in a panic mode. We don’t need a laboratory with skills to analyse or to explain how crony capitalism is the killer of E.E.- Ethical Entrepreneurship. It grabs out the virtuous animal spirits of an enterprise to show case it as a necessary evil. This is the `holy spirit` since Stone Age which the American economists, the Indian prime minister, CEOs and Ministers like Montik Singh Ahluwalia ,all are so fond of talking about. Many politicians are expressing their patent `helpless spirit`. People are left to fight their own war of survival like a gladiator. Animal Spirit promotion helps to hide the real challenges and sufferings.

What does the term `animal spirit` stands for ?
Let us pick up the first hand compulsions. The wild character behind the animal spirit needs identification. It shall be great to see the rule of the Jungle and to understand the spirit behind.

No one including any Jungle drum beater formally nominates and crowns the Lion as King of the Jungle. He earns the position of a King through his calibre, strength & attitude. When a lion in a Jungle runs to kill- he runs for food. When a deer runs he runs for life- to protect his daily work. It is only the Lion who in Jungle knows the hidden team work that helps him survive. According to discovery channel a lion does not kill more then 32 times in a year unlike animal greed and animal spirit of few that kills the rest. Each day every hour, each minute and every second the game is on.

Guide to Modern Animal spirits:

In Africa-India many are seen walking miles. We live in an unexplained world where poor people walk miles to earn food and rich people walk miles to digest food. `Greed` supports and does the animal trick : It trains, it protects and it generates wealth for few using more at a neck breaking speed. It cheats the human spirit which desires the team participation but is kept slow for a better living and for a respectful survival. Pizza reaches home faster than the Police and the Ambulance.

Ancient respect for Animal Spirits :

Witch doctors and magicians use this term since ancient times, to dictate power. To monitor business control over humanity. Term was first coined by John Maynard Keynes in one of his economics books, "The General Theory of Employment, Interest and Money". The term "animal spirits" is used to describe human emotion that drives consumer confidence and not to fight and overcome spirits. According to Keynes, `animal spirits` also generate human trust. This was true in 1936. Animal sovereignty it appears was born in response to growing conflicts in unfair wealth distribution among people during the great Depression of 1930s.Relation between a man-machine, production- its means and its ends all have taken a sea change since then. Information and IT is the new game changer. We live in a Global village where Rice is one dollar per kg or 5000 K or Rs.50/- per kg but the Sim Card for a mobile is free. Today the humanity of 99 % is standing up against the animal spirit of 1 %. The demand is for Human Rights, better wealth distribution, better share, work regulations and basic minimum survival kit is evident.

Resurgence of interest in the idea of animal spirits in recent years of crisis is evident. Several books and articles have been published on this topic. Keynes believed that animal spirits were necessary to motivate people to take positive action. In the sports arena it is transformed as the `killer spirit` charged up for a win.

Reform with an animal spirit not only succeeded in Africa but prospered in India for two decades. Its success was visible. It was also shared and cheered by a wide section of our people. Why has the picture then changed-dirty in India ? Why reforms are De-forming now ? Could it be just a consequence of the global commodity boom fired by easy investments flooding the larger Western economies after the 2008 financial crisis? It has created speedy windfall-billionaires all over the world, including in India: the Reddy brothers of Bellary are one example.

To go back to our original query, the economy stands shattered. Markets have flip flopped not because Global Governance is pro- or anti-business, but because it has been so hypocritical about animal spirit and about private economy with private and hidden double rules.

Let's look at some of the new corporate class the real hidden masters instead of the usual suspect, the government. Animal Sprit unlike the modest human spirit of 99 % is more demanding. Animal spirit needs favours, demands elite care, twisting of laws, weak regulations, no civilized competition, ownership of natural resources at a throw away prices and a freedom to steal capital to put in speculative market for a fake growth. Many of these spirits quickly get listed on the stock markets in boom times, and kept leveraging and manipulating their balance sheets as if the rush hour will never stop.

Animal Spirit also provides a permanent do-nothing excuse of the Global Governance Class. Investors spend their time at golf course sipping bear. Football a team game seldom suits their temperament. Worst of all, it is a fast ruining public opinion for businessmen in India; as it confirms the worst old fears of all of them being the hidden spirit controllers: controlling the destiny of millions with hidden profits in tax havens.

The big collateral learners in the animal spirit process are the `human spirit` campaigners as the strugglers. Hope is the magic oxygen behind the 99 % that includes some middle level Business houses. Human Spirit sluggers are forced to be called as lazy, suckers and robber barons as we see in Greece crisis. We live in system where capital is worshipped as a God but human capital involved is treated as dirt.

A broken link in the system needs to be understood, re-connected and corrected fast. A global village disconnect: We see a clear disconnect among powerful ruling elite and the 99%.Majoirty wish to have a better civilized systems with participation and with fair justice. Animal spirit need to sacrifice more. It needs to be accommodative for the global governance world order by allowing flow of more money in more pockets. Growth in the real market can only help to save the `animal spirit` from getting extinct or thrown out of the economic game of survival.

Lion and the Tiger in Indian Jungles are vanishing fast today in spite of Government best efforts to invest in wild life and care for animals. Protection of animal spirit may be a necessary evil but not at the cost of humans.

KSHMA VANI MAHA PRVA

Suresh Jain

It is matter of great rejoice that we are celebrating Kshma Vani Parva on 2nd Oct-2012 But I would like to add that strict Jains observe kshma Bhav every (morning) by Pratikraman and Devasi (evening) Pratikraman for the specific purpose of reviewing our activities (twice a day) for any violations, asking for the forgiveness for our actions, and improving our future activities. There are less frequent varieties of Pratikraman, but the yearly Samvatsari Pratikraman (during Paryushan Parva) is considered a must for every Jain.

PRATIKRAMAN
The soul, in its pure form, has infinite perception, infinite knowledge, infinite vigor, and is non-attached. These attributes are not seen in a Worldly soul because it is soiled with karmas. By following religious principles principals and activities, we overcome our karmas and uplift our souls to liberation. There are various kinds of religious activities, sometimes called rituals, and among them Pratikraman is the most important ritual. During pratikraman we repent for our non-meritorious activities on a daily basis. We realize our mistakes and ask for forgiveness which helps us to minimize the intensity of the karmas bondage.

Pratikraman is a combination of six avshyakas(essential rituals). The six Avshyakas are:

1) Samayik - a state of total equanimity
2) Chauvisantho - worshipping the twenty-four Tirthankars
3) Vandana - offering salutations to sadhus (monks) and sadhvis (nuns)
4) Pratikraman - realizing what we have done wrong and annotating on it
5) Kayotsagga - meditation of the soul
6) Pratyakhyan – renunciation

1) Samayik: In samayik, we stay in equanimity for forty-eight minutes. During samayik not only do we give up all worldly affairs, but we also stay away from attachment and aversion. This activity helps us to purify our passions and desires. To perform samayik, we put on simple, white clothes, and occupy a quiet place. While in samayik, we recite the Navkar Mantra, read scriptures, perform meditation, etc. Our samayik gives us a glimpse at the life of sadhus who live in samayik all of their life. It directly encourages us to lead the life of a sadhu or sadhvi.

2) Chauvisantho Chauvisantho means adoration of the twenty-four Tirthankaras. By reciting it, we show our respect for the twenty-four Tirthankaras. While reciting this, we are reminded of how victorious these Jinas, who overcome inner enemies like anger, ego, greed, deceit, etc., were and such activity also and encourages us to be like them. It is also called Chaturvinshatistava

3) Vandana:  During vandana, we bow down to monks and nuns and express our reverence to them. They are our current religious guides, and preceptors. While bowing down, we become humble, and thus, help ourselves to overcome ego and anger. It also inspires us to become like them. (If there is no monk or nun then we bow down in the North-East direction to Arihantas who are currently living far away from here.)

4) Pratikraman : Pratikraman is the combination of two words, Pra meaning return and atikraman meaning violation. Literally, it means returning from violations. As Jain householders, we are supposed to observe twelve minor vows. Better known barh bhawana During Pratikraman we review our activities for any violations that may have occurred among these vows. In this way, we ask for forgiveness for our actions, purify our souls, and improve our future activities. If we have not taken these vows then we should wishthat there will come a day when we can take those vows.

Pratikraman is usually done twice a day; once in the morning, Raisi (morning) Pratikraman and once in the late evening Devasi (evening) Pratikraman. Those who are unable to perform daily pratikraman should do a Pakshik (fortnightly) Pratikraman. There are some who somehow can not find even that much time, they should do a Choumasi (quarterly) Pratikraman, every four months. However, if someone can not even do that, then they should do Samvatsari (yearly) Pratikraman, considered a must for every Jain.

By repenting during the pratikraman, you lessen the bondage of karma to your soul and avoid committing the same sins in the future. If we do not repent for our deeds at least once a year, then the bondage of karmas to the soul becomes severe and even harder to shed off. In all truth, one should perform pratikraman as soon as one realizes he or she has committed a sin.

5) Kayotsagga: The word kayotsargga is made up of two words Kaya meaning body and utsarga meaning to give up. Kayotsagga means to give up ones physical comfort and body movements, thus staying steady, either in a standing or other posture, and concentrating upon the true nature of the soul as being separate from the body. This is a form of meditation and by practicing pure kayotsargga we slowly gain control over our mental, verbal, and physical activities.

6) Pratyakhya : This is a formal renunciation of certain activities, which reduces to stops the inflow of karmas. This activity helps us to learn to control our desires and prepares us for a much bigger renunciation, revenge is transient, Only Forgiveness is Complete.

We are born to die,Only thing that Lives through is Forgiveness. To Forgive is a great virtue,Greater than probably any other. Dont see things as we are; See as they are.Life will be far simpler. Forgiveness is the real form of Love.Forgiveness is understanding that change is inevitable; That it is irredeemable; Thus our Kshma Prava is only successful, if we understand the concept of daily partikarman and Samaiyaki every day. But I understand that the Partikarman concept is missing in most the cases . I Would seek that the originally concept be adhered in proper sense.

SAB TV New Show Bal Veer

Prem Babu Sharma

The joy of watching a fairy tale on screen is unbridled especially when you discover it even has a dynamic superhero as its protagonist. Baal Veer is an enchanting saga of a little boy, raised by fairies and blessed with super powers like no other human. However, since this show is a SAB TV creation, it’s not all action, but instead it’s copious laughter scene after scene! It’s a hilarious show with extremely entertaining characters, who will redefine everything you know about fairyland.

Speaking of fairyland, this fairyland in particular, known as Pari Lok, has the most motley assortment of angels. Meet Aarpaar Pari, with the power to transcend matter and travel through walls, transporting herself anywhere within seconds; Vijdaar pari, fairy of thunder and lightning; Atakti Pari has a power to freeze a person anywhere;BaalPari whose tresses are so long that she can tie people with them;Bhatakti Pari who has a unique power to confuse people and make them lose their way and lastly Gaal Pari who has magic tricks hidden in her big rosy cheeks.Natkhat Pari has power to befool people.Little Baal Veer is blessed with the combined power of all these 7 angels and uses these powers for the good of mankind.

Overseeing all that’s happening in Pari Lok, there is Rani Pari, as no fairytale is complete without a fairy godmother! Rani Pari has the power of all the angels in Pari Lok. This significant character in the show is played by Karishma Tanna. Karishma, who has been a part of the television industry for over two decades, is no stranger to comedy. She will now be seen in elaborate costumes and hair-dos in Baal Veer, which will add yet another feather in her hat for portraying varied roles. Playing her rival on the show, in the role of an antagonistic Pari, is Shama Sikandar, who revels in creating turbulence in the otherwise ethereal firmament. Shama too, has been part of television for the longest time and even has numerous films to her credit. Both Shama and Karishma have had a background of comedy in television and they sure look like an ideal choice to match their powerful, unexpected roles for the show.

Baal Veer is esentially a show about a child bestowed with godly powers, who shuttles between earth and fairyland. His sole motive is to save young kids like himself, from bullies and other injustice against them. In the course of his travel between the two realms is when he meets two earthlings, Manav and Meher, who eventually become his dear friends. Manav and Meher are often troubled by older kids and treated insensitively. Baal Veer comes to their rescue with the powers of his wand causing much comic mayhem in the process but as the proverb goes, all is well as it eventually ends well.

For an ensemble cast like this one, higly crafted outfits and magnificent sets, this show surely promises a lot. With all the detailing, the channel promises to stay faithful to its most essential facet, that of comedy. The exaggerated character sketches provide ample humour to get the audiences in splits.

Water problem in Dwarka

Dear Presidents/Secretaries of the Group Housing and the RWAs,

I do not know how serious is the water problem in your Societies but in my Society, it is a crisis situation. We are getting one water tanker from DDA and two water tankers from the Private Water Tanker Operator daily. Each tanker’s capacity is 10000 ltrs meaning thereby we are buying 30000 ltrs daily barring a few days when DDA is kind enough to send us some water through it’s established water pipe line which is very less and perforce we have to again request DDA for a water Tanker. We are spending almost Rs. 2000 daily and Rs. 30,000- 40,000 monthly. This may vary depending on the kind of supply from DDA. This situation is continuing from May onwards.

I have been speaking to Chief Engineer, Mr Solanki and other DDA Engineers but they only promise and do nothing resulting in miseries of the residents. Water is essential for existence and very survival of living beings. I am told that each Group Housing Society is authorized a BORE WELL but our Society has none. Digging of BORE WELL is illegal and not permitted.

I am writing to all you ladies and gentlemen that I am sure many of you must be facing the similar crisis though gravity may differ and therefore we all should meet some time and do something about it. I was happy to note that some office bearers of the “Forum” had met the Chief Minister regarding the water problem. But she has rather then solving the problem has complicated it by taking shelter of Munak Canal. That does not solve our problem. We go to our representatives for relief and not for this kind of excuse. Thus we are back to square one.

What is surprising is how come there are number of water tankers floating around in Dwarka during day and night? Where are they getting so much water from? When asked, they reply we get water from Haryana Border or they have their own tube wells? It is mind boggling. Statistics are for you and me. Interesting!

It is food for thought. Let us do some thing. I request the Form to take an initiative in this regard.

With best wishes and regards.

क्षमा वाणी दिवस ( A day of forgiveness )

Dr. M.C.Jain
NATIONAL PRESIDENT
Rashtriya Digamber Jain Parishad (Regd)

क्षमावीरस्यभूषणं

Every religion in the world has its own significance and importance for the individual, for the family and for the community as well. Similarly every day has its own significance and importance in ones’ life. If we turn the pages of history we find that every day is categorically marked significantly for one reason or the other. क्षमावाणीदिवस—a day of forgiveness-, is also one of the glaring example which is celebrated every year by the Jain Community on the last day of Daslakshanparva-- दसलक्षणपर्व . It carries a message to all living and non-living creatures in the world to 'FORGIVE ourselves for the 'deeds we have done either knowingly or un-knowingly if such deeds have ever given any pain or hurt the feelings.'

Forgiving others and even forgiving ourselves is not always so easy. In fact, how do you forgive someone who has hurt you? How do you forgive yourself for regrets that you have? The truth is, even when we want to engage in the process of forgiving others or ourselves, we don’t always know how to go about it. Forgiveness is the experience of finding inner peace which our saint have telling us since long. One of the most difficult things we have to do during the course of our lives is to forgive those who wrong us. When we are hurt, our first reaction is usually to seek revenge and strike back. Revenge may provide temporary satisfaction, but usually the satisfaction is replaced by guilt, sadness, and remorse. Forgiveness lightens our heart and our spirit in a way that no amount of satisfaction from revenge possibly can. In the Jain Dharma it has a great significance and importance. In one of the Holy speeches of भगवान्महावीर (Lord Mahavir), he said "Forgiveness is the ornament of brave persons" (क्षमाबहादुरोंकाआभूषणहै.) But the bravery does not lie in proving the power but in Forgiving or क्षमा.

This is the day when all Jains repent for their past sins, ask for forgiveness from family, friends , enemies, and specially from those with whom they have struggled, for hurting them in any way either knowingly or unknowingly during the past year. It is essential to our spiritual advancement that we do not harbor ill will or hold grudges beyond a year. Hence, the annual occasion for repentance and forgiveness is the most important day in Jain tradition.

Certainly, there are a wide range of situations that we often experience and witness throughout our lives and some are easier to forgive than others. However, forgiveness is or may be possible in all situations. As forgiveness takes place within our heart, we may receive inspired thoughts and ideas of ways to initiate reconciliation. We may even find that once we shift our emotional energy around the other person through forgiveness, they actually initiate reconciliation because whether they are conscious of it or not, they may feel the shift in our energy. It involves repentance and sincere confession for past sinful deeds and thoughts as well as the forgiveness of others’ faults. This is in order to protect oneself through the process of spiritual discipline from present sinful acts, and prevent future sinful acts through renunciation

We often forget how important it is to forgive. If we never forgave, we would have an awful society. All people would need to have all the same thoughts and censor their true feelings otherwise we would have a world full of hateful and friendless people. Too many people would live unhappy and unfulfilled lives.

There are a lot of benefits of forgiveness. We will be having stronger intuitive insight and a deepened experience of spiritual connection ,experience of thoughts and emotions that feel good, more often, higher level of energy and a better quality of sleep, increased happiness and peacefulness ,happier, healthier relationships, greater health and less stress ,clearer thinking and so on. The benefits and importance of क्षमा has also been described in “दसलक्षणधर्मपूजा” ---- “उत्तमक्षमागहोरेभाई , यहजसपरभवसुखदाई” and also – “उत्तमक्षमाजहाँमनहोई ,अंतर - बाहिरशत्रुनकोई” very clearly in जिनवाणी ( जैनपूजासंग्रहपुस्तक )

Peace is not possible without forgiveness in the world. According to Martin Luther King, “Forgiveness is not an occasional act; it is a permanent attitude.” The only way children can learn the habit of forgiveness is by seeing us, their parents, forgive others and forgive ourselves. It generates the feelings of friendliness and love. It is the path to unlocking the knot of  hatred and to converting enmity into amity. In a nutshell, forgiveness can make our lives happy and peaceful. It can build a harmonious, peaceful andbeautiful society.

KSHAMAVANI Parva (क्षमावाणीपर्व ) is a Parva of forgiveness which is supposed to be the first and foremost virtue of ascetics and scholars. It helps not only in pacifying anger and making us religious minded by removing all sins, but is also capable in keeping us hale and hearty. It is a virtue of humanity and an ornament of social courtesy. “Forget & forgive” is a symbol of greatness and one, being an embodiment of ‘love & greatness’, is capable to grant forgiveness that one need on this day of “KSHAMAVANI PARVA ”.

Whether you are forgiving others or yourself, it is hoped that you will choose to give yourself the gift of forgiveness today.

On this auspicious occasion of Kshamavani (क्षमावाणी), we beg forgiveness for our intentional and unintentional wrongs, excesses, sins, that we might have done onto you.

और इसी भावना के साथ

Chandan Sharma

Kismat Love Paisa Dilli is a 2012 Comedy Film.Vivek Oberoi’s next which was initially titled Gyrah Chalis Ki Last Metro has since been renamed to Kismat, Love, Paisa, Dilli (Klpd). The film which is produced by krishan chaudhary & Amit Chandra has been undergoing change for some time; even the star cast is modified and will include Mallika Sherawat. Incidentally, the film has been in the headlines off late as it was taken to be the sequel to the Sanjay Khanduri’s 2007 sleeper hit Ek Challis Ki Last Local, with the name Gyrah Challis Ki Last Metro doing the rounds. However, the most interesting facet of the development of this film is the signing of Mallika Sherawat. The source goes onto add that when Sanjay and Amit approached Mallika with the script of Klpd that had the actress playing a parallel lead to the actor, Mallika readily agreed to do the film as she felt the role was too good.

As the title of the film says it’s a one night story of three very important elements of a good life, such as Kismet (luck), love and Paisa (Money) in Indian Capital city Dilli. Lokesh (Vivek Oberoi) and Lovina (Mallika Sherawat) are the two key characters of this one night adventurous journey in which they sees all three things in Dilli (Delhi). Lovina is a modern Punjabi girl who works in Delhi. One night she misses last metro of 11:40. She meets a guy named Lokesh and both feel some kind of attraction towards each-other during their single night roller coaster experience of life, from cold streets to glitzy farm house parties in Delhi. After all messed up things finally they fall in love with each other.

In this content driven story, we will see many entertaining comical things with some flavor of thrill as subject of gang rapes in Delhi is also included in the script. Kismet Love Paisa Dilli (KLPD) is different from Ek Chalis Ki Last Local as KLPD is a Delhi based story but other one was based in Mumbai. Some things should be unfold about the story of Kismet Love Paisa Dilli otherwise you may miss some thrill if you know whole story. So better wait a little more as Kismet Love Paisa Dilli is expected to release all over on 5th October 2012.

Ms. Sangeeta Babani painted the first Nano Art Car

Indian most fabulous latkhatia car TATA NANO gets the new look in “Nano Art in Motion” Festival.Indo-Spain Artist Ms. Sangeeta Babani was one to create the piece of art on Nano. Starting out with the concept of ‘festivity’ and ‘celebration’, Tata Motors invited Sangeeta Babani to Paint the car and the show was curated by Pradarshak Gallery.

Excited about painting on the Tata Nano, Ms Sangeeta Babani plans to interpret the theme of celebration using her signature blend of realism and abstractionism, set to the vibrant color palette for which her art is known to follow. Admitting that this is the first time she is displaying her at on a car, the artist said, “I am glad we are experimenting with this form of art and it looks challenging. Translating such a mindset on to the car as a canvas, Sangeeta has excelled at recreating a narrative of celebration and festivity, spreading cheer, going by the original intention of the company, to take the car around the city of Mumbai.

Vivek Oberoi's next renamed Kismat, Love, Paisa, Dilli

PremBabu Sharma

Vivek Oberoi's next which was initially titled Gyrah Chalis Ki Last Metro has since been renamed to Kismat, Love, Paisa, Dilli (KLPD). The film which is produced by Krishan Chaudhary has been undergoing change for some time; even the star cast is modified and will include Mallika Sherawat.

Incidentally, the film has been in the headlines off late as it was taken to be the sequel to the Sanjay Khanduri's 2007 sleeper hit Ek Challis Ki Last Local, with the name Gyrah Challis Ki Last Metro doing the rounds. However, the most interesting facet of the development of this film is the signing of Mallika Sherawat.

The source goes onto add that when Sanjay and Krishan Chaudhary approached Mallika with the script of KLPD that had the actress playing a parallel lead to the actor, Mallika readily agreed to do the film as she felt the role was too good to let go off and was excited to play a content driven lead.

In the film, Mallika plays a Delhi based Punjabi bombshell who gets caught in a adventurous journey when she misses the last Metro home. Mallika would soon be back to Mumbai as the film goes on floors soon.

Krishan Chaudhary, the producer of the film, he states, "The film is called Kismat, Love, Paisa, Dilli and the film is not a sequel to Ek Chalis Ki Last Local but a new story. The only similarity between the two films is that they are comical thrillers. The film has three elements Kismat, Love and Paisa coming together in one crazy fun night in Delhi, hence the title Kismat, Love, Paisa, Dilli was apt."

Selfless Service is the only worship

Pt. Shri Ram Sharma Aacharya

Our heart is sanctified by selfless service. Ego, hatred, jealousy, superiority complex, and many such vicious feelings are destroyed. Humility, pure love, compassion, forgiveness, mercy and such virtues are developed. Prejudice and inequality vanish. Selfishness gets uprooted. The life becomes fulfilled and generous. You will feel united with consciousness and start enjoying the bliss. Ultimately you will attain self-realization and will start seeing one and the same consciousness prevailing in all. The world is nothing but only a manifestation of the Almighty God. Service to mankind is the service to God, and this is considered as nothing but worship only.

“CRIME PREVENTION” IS THE KEY TO ACHIEVING A PRACTICALLY “CRIME FREE SOCIETY”

-- A SUBJECT THAT HAS NEVER BEEN TAKEN SERIOUSLY BY THE GOVT. & LAW ENFORCING AGENCIES TILL NOW.

Rajendra Dhar
POLICE WATCH INDIA (Regd. NGO).

We at POLICE WATCH INDIA over a period of time have analysed the root cause of the commission of many a heinous crime and have come to the conclusion that many a times trivial issues which are ignored and brushed aside by the police keep simmering and eventually are the root cause of the commission of many a heinous crime.

EFFECTIVE “CRIME PREVENTION” HAS TO BE TAKEN MOST SERIOUSLY NOT ONLY ON PAPER BUT IN PRACTICE AS THE FACT REMAINS THAT:-

Crime can and should be prevented. Truly effective prevention requires addressing causes of crime and reducing opportunities for it to occur. Everyone, no matter what age, position, or capacity, can and must take individual action to stop crime.

The problems of crime, violence, and drug abuse are best addressed though local action supported by local and state policies. Comprehensive crime prevention action plans (coordinated strategies and policies that address causes as well as occurrences of crime) are vital to long-term community success against crime.

Partnerships that actively involve the local community and its residents are the key to preventing crime. Prevention is a highly cost-effective alternative to the costs of crime to individuals, neighbourhoods, and communities. Crime prevention action should be grounded in research and tested approaches and aided by evaluation.

Preventing crime requires tailoring to local needs and conditions. Preventing crime is a responsibility of all levels and agencies of government.

TOWARDS THIS END WE WILL HAVE TO:-

Enable adults who care for children and youth to recognize and prevent situations that may put them at risk of victimization or delinquency and to provide them with the knowledge and tools to help reduce these risks.

Increase crime prevention awareness and skills in children and youth and engage them in service to their communities. Provide dynamic leadership that enables law enforcement agencies, schools, and other community partners to increase school safety.

Identify issues and trends that promote the safety of children and youth; develop and disseminate appropriate research and promising practices.

Build and expand programs proven to meet changing conditions affecting children and youth.

THE GOVT. ON ITS PART SHOULD:-

Develop and strengthen models that create vibrant public and public-private partnerships supporting individual and community crime prevention.

Identify and deliver best practices and lessons learned to help strengthen these partnerships, improve their effectiveness in preventing crime, and avoid redundancies.

Collaborate closely with locally focused partners and stakeholders to integrate and synchronise crime prevention campaigns, initiatives, and programmes to achieve maximum national impact against crime.

Educate national, state, and local leaders about the cost-effectiveness and other benefits of crime prevention.

Evaluate these partnerships based on mutually established goals.

GOVERNMENT LEADERSHIP AT ALL LEVELS IS REQUIRED:-

To create and maintain an institutional framework for effective crime prevention.

Socio-economic development and inclusion refer to the need to integrate crime prevention into relevant social and economic policies, and to focus on the social integration of at risk communities, children, families, and youth.

Cooperation and partnerships between government ministries and authorities, civil society organisations, the business sector, and private citizens are required given the wide-ranging nature of the causes of crime and the skills and responsibilities required to address them.

Sustainability and accountability can only be achieved if adequate resources to establish and sustain programmes and evaluation are made available and clear accountability for funding, implementation, evaluation and achievement of planned results is established.

Knowledge base strategies, policies and programmes need to be based on a broad multidisciplinary foundation of knowledge, together with evidence regarding specific crime problems, their causes, and proven practices.

Human rights/rule of law/culture of lawfulness the rule of law and those human rights which are recognized in international instruments must be respected in all aspects of crime prevention, and a culture of lawfulness actively promoted.

Interdependency refers to the need for national crime prevention diagnoses and strategies to take into account, where appropriate, the links between local criminal problems and international organized crime.

The principle of differentiation calls for crime prevention strategies to pay due regard to the different needs of men and women and consider the special needs of vulnerable members of society.

THERE IS CLEAR EVIDENCE THAT WELL PLANNED CRIME PREVENTION STRATEGIES NOT ONLY PREVENT CRIME AND VICTIMISATION, BUT ALSO PROMOTE COMMUNITY SAFETY AND CONTRIBUTE TO SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OF COUNTRIES.
