ROHINI REGISTRANTS WILL BE ALLOTTED PLOTS SOON

DDA has informed that about 16,000 applicants of the Rohini Residential Scheme, 1981 will be allotted plots in about 18 months and the DDA will try to allot to the remaining over 9,000 applicsants soon thereafter. Manish Sharma, a delegation member told that Arun Mishra, OSD, Vice Chairman, DDA has told that the hurdle over the acquisition of land in Prahalad Vihar, Rohini is almost over as the RWA of that area has entered into an agreement with the DDA about this land.  OSD also informed that the residents of Prahalad Vihar had gone to the Supreme Court challenging acquisition of their land under section 17(emergency clause) of the Land Acquisition Act.  He told that as directed by the Delhi High Court to the V.C., DDA to file an affidavit while hearing a Public Interest Litigation, DDA plans to file an affidavit mentioning time-line for the allotment on the next hearing scheduled for 7thSept. 2011. Later, an affidavit on the similar lines and the copy of the agreement with the villagers of the Prahalad Vihar will be filed before the Supreme Court hearing of which is scheduled after two weeks. 

Earlier, a dharna was staged before the DDA Office at Vikas Sadan protesting against the 31-year delay in the allotment of plots to over remaining 25,000 applicants of the scheme.  M. K. Gupta, another member of the delegation told that they have submitted a memorandum demanding immediate allotment of plots of the sizes applied for by the registrants, fixing the responsibility for the inordinate delay in allotment and for taking action against the officials responsible for the delay.
