Delhi police has said that it plans to organize a training programme for the girls and ladies for self-defence. This was agreed on the demand of the representatives of Dwarka Forum who met ACP Shri Samay Singh on 28th May. Forum also demanded for the training of the security guards posted in CGHS and DDA’s pockets so that they can be more vigilant and can also help in crime protection. Police and DF were unanimous on taking the competent security guards from the registered security agencies. Issue of installations of CCTV cameras in left-out societies as well as DDA-pockets and timely changing the location of the police pickets, encroachment, proper street lighting among other issues were also discussed. It also emerged that the Electric Corporation of India Ltd. can also be contacted for the installation of CCTV cameras and since it is a govt. company, it may be more dependable than the private players in the filed. It is an added advantage for the Dwarka that the ACP is a resident of Dwarka and is well aware about the crime pattern and law and order problems of the area.
