Volunteer against Corruption
I see a new era is in the making in the backdrop of war against corruption. The Government is answerless and nervous. Some more push to corruption will demolish it and its perpetrators of corruption or let me call them traitors as they have stashed our money in foreign banks. Today, Swami Ramdev has demanded gallows to such corrupts. From the success of this movement, every body can gauge the mood of the nation. Corrupt elements in the Centre and in State Governments must read the writing on the walls. I have seen the upsurge against the emergency or was in fact for some time, accompanied Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan and know how the use of force or imposition of emergency boomeranged. Now, we understand that govt. will not dare to repeat that folly. Again, Government led by Shri Morarji Desai failed because internal feud and ego between the two prominent leaders, Mr. Jagjiwan Ram and Chaudhary Charan Singh. I regard both the former leaders for their contribution to the nation. This is history and I will not take much time on this.
Coming to the focal point, now government has shown some accommodative attitude but that is not voluntarily but because a fear of repeat of Egypt of backlash by the public. We should be cautious to take its promises on its words on face value and should remain vigilant. Govt had to institute inquiries against the scams, black money, tax evasion and on other issues on the direction of the Supreme or High Courts and not on its own. Sometimes, it seems that the already over-burdened judiciary is compelled to run the executive too but when the Govt. does not pay heed, where a citizen should go? Many scams like Adarsh Society and CWG came to light because of Right to Information Act.
Anna, 73 is not a child who will sit on fast on the instance of some other. Some of our leaders say that he is in a hurry while govt. was working on the Lokpal Bill. We, the people of India, the real govt. ask our representative how many centuries they wanted to enact this legislation. Even, to befool us, the provisions in the bill were kept virtually ineffective. I was of 16 or 17, when I first read about the government’s intention to introduce such a bill and after that, every time read that this has been referred to this Committee or that Combusted for further scrutiny. Though, during this period, both the main parties and even third front have headed the govt at Centre. Therefore, the step taken by Mahatma Anna is, in fact, a belated one. Had he taken such a step earlier, we might have not read about many scams. With the coffers of Rs 1,76 Lakh crores in 2G + other amount in many big scams, the country was able to eradicate the poverty and the country can be converted to a developed nation from the status of developing nation. Not long ago, we remember that our Prime Minister before the last general election to Lok Sabha promised to bring out the money back stashed in banks outside the country but after forming the Government, leading citizens had to go to the Court for this and on being slammed, govt. is taking some steps, willing or reluctantly.
First, the Britons (Angrej) looted the nation and now our own are indulging in this.
I may be excused for any mistake as I am writing this spontaneously under the fever of emotions.
