Diwali celebrations: Gandhi Ashram Society, Dwarka

On the occasion of  Diwali, The Gandhi Ashram Society was cleaned, New Flower  and Ornamental plants were planted in the society giving new aesthetic look. The society was  beautifully decorated and illuminated on the occasion of Diwali by the Management Committee. A Cultural and Diwali Dinner function was arranged by the Cultural Committee for the occasion on 4th Nov 2010. 


The event started with lighting of Lamp by the President of the Society Mr JC Pawah and other elderly members/ residents. Mr JC Pawah informed all present the importance of the Diwali or Deepawali  is celebrated to worship the Goddess of Wealth, Goddess Lakshmi throughout India. It is the most auspicious festival in Hinduism. Diwali festival symbolises the victory of good over evil. Mr JC Pawah  wished all members/ residents and  their families  a Happy, Prosperous Diwali and appreciated the residents for their cooperation in running day to day affairs of the society by the MC. The function was attended by  about 150 residents of the society and they participated in various events, like Singing, Dance, Tambola, Fireworks display followed by Dinner.   It was a lively and memorable evening wherein all the members present enjoyed the function and celebrated their Diwali.
