Teachers’ day celebration at MBS, Dwarka was a day of fun and excitement for both students and the staff. The day began with a special assembly to pay tribute to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan –former President of India ,an outstanding teacher and a great philosopher of his time, a special documentary report on Dr.S.Radhakrishnan was the highlight of the morning session. Teachers mold the lives that they influence. Lessons learned from teachers remain with their students throughout life. It’s a day to pay reverence to our teachers.
Uniqueness of the day was all senior students sharing the anecdotes from the school life of their parents.’’ Mistaken Identity’’ shared by Arjun Chaursia of grade VI was loved by all. One day, the Principal on his routine round of the school, heard a terrible commotion coming from one of the classrooms. He rushed in and spotted one boy, taller than the others, trying to take charge of the class. The Principal scolded him and restored order. He lectured the class for half an hour about the importance of good behavior. Then he asked ‘Are there any questions?' One girl quietly said. 'Please sir, may we have our teacher back?'
Himansi Poddar and Aryan Srivatsva of grade V & IV resp. shared the idea of inculcating reading habits. Rewards by the teacher for a distinct news item shared by the child helped them look into the newspaper thoroughly. Never skip a word while reading or learning inspired them to develop word vocabulary.
A colouring activity sponsored by Club Mahindra was held for students. Express your love and respect for your favourite teacher-was the essence of the activity. All students were given beautifully designed blank award sheets. They were expected to colour it and offer it to their favourite teacher. The teachers with highest number of certificates in each group were felicitated with Gift vouchers of Club Mahindra entitling them for 2nights/3days free stay at Club Mahindra resorts.
The students had fun with Mascots - Micky Mouse and Appu.
Teachers enjoyed playing musical chairs and jam sessions. Ramp walk by every faculty member had the whole house in outbursts of laughter.
The Chairman thanked the teachers for their commitment to establish the vision of foundation .The Director expressed the hope that the teachers would lead the change in the realm of education.
