SAMARPAN ORGANISED A FREE PADIATRIC HEALTH CHECK-UP CAMP AT DWARKA

SAMARPAN Charitable Trust Foundation (Regd.) organized a Free Pediatric Health Check-up Camp in association with Columbia Asia Hospital, Palam Vihar on 19th September 2010 at Govindam Banquet Hall, Sec-7 Dwarka from 11 am to 4 pm.

The Free Health Check-up camp was organized solely to benefit the children for their health safety and absolutely free Hepatitis B vaccination was given to children who ware not vaccinated before. Other services were child psychology, children occupational therapy, speech therapy, child cardiology (with Eco), neurology, child nutrition & dietician and general check-up by pediatricians.

The camp was a great success as more than 150 children with their guardians arrived at the Camp. The children’s homes & orphanages in & around Dwarka like Bal Vihar in Mahavir enclave and Nazafgarh also took benefit of the occasion and brought their children in to the camp. Biscuits and Juice were distributed among the children who were checked up by the doctors.

A team of specialized and renowned pediatric doctors from Columbia Asia Hospital offered their services at the camp. The team included Dr. Vikas Taneja – Pediatrician, Dr. Dinesh Goel – Pediatrician, Dr. Acharya – Pediatric Cardiologist, Dr. (Mrs.) Ansari – Child Psycologist, Dr. Ravindra Thakur & Dr. Taru Thakur – Occupational Therapists, Dr. Maheshwari – Neurologist and Dr. Dev Raj – Speech Therapist. Dr. Koushar Ali, Chief of Medical Services at Columbia Asia Hospital also arrived at the camp and supervised the proceedings.


SAMARPAN Charitable Trust Foundation(Regd) is the brainchild of the President of the trust Mr. C. B. Garg, who is a retired. Bank officer. On speaking at the occasion, Mr. Garg told that Samarpan has started its services with a bang and many more camps will be organized not even in Dwarka, but all around Delhi and other states too.

He gave a note of thanks to the team of doctors from Columbia Asia Hospital for being so much supportive in organizing such an event.

Mr. L. K. Singhal, the Secretary of SAMARPAN on speaking at the camp, emphasized on the motto of the trust which is upliftment of the masses especially the underprivileged ones. He quoted that although SAMARPAN is only 4 months old this was the first such type of camp ever organized in Dwarka. Mr. Singhal was happy that the camp got such a good response even when there was heavy rain. Further he stated that even at this hard times SAMARPAN constitutes of so many persons who really want to serve the people involuntarily without any greed and self desire, with their best of services in all the way and for that he is proud to be a part of SAMARPAN. He also told that there are several children and youngsters possessing sharp brain and ability to touch the sky, but they remain helpless due to their poverty, we at SAMARPAN will try to identify the hidden talents in the underprivileged children and harness their potential so as to make them self dependent.

Its very early to say, but SAMARPAN has plans to help the needy not only living in the urban areas but also in the rural & interiors of India. He said that this is the first step towards the trust’s initiatives and there are many such steps in store that they have to climb. Presently the main office of the SAMARPAN has been situated at 170, Vardhman Citi Star Mall, Sector-7, Dwarka but we are confident that in the coming future the devotees of SAMARPAN shall serve to the mass in the Country and they will take all possible steps especially for those children, youngsters and senior citizens who really deserve assistance and help of any body for achieving their goal in the field of Health, Education, schooling, and other social activities through out India and abroad. We are looking forward for such more devotees to be the part of SAMARPAN.

Dr. Vikas Taneja who was also a part of the doctors’ team told the reporters that the camp was very well organized and he as well as the other doctors enjoyed checking the children and talking to their guardians. They also guided the children and their guardians about the spreading mosquito borne diseases and swine flu and taught them about safety from preventing the breeding of mosquitoes in and around their homes. He thanked Samarpan Charitable Trust Foundation (Regd.) for organizing such type of camp and promised the participation of Columbia Asia Hospital in any other such endeavors.

At the time of closing of the camp Mrs. Seema Garg (Trustee) of the Samarpan Trust Foundation gave thanks to all the children, their guardians and the doctors for making this camp such a successful event and further stated that the trust will not limit its services to health, education and safety of children only but also committed for the benefit of the senior citizens and the family as a whole. She also promised that Samarpan has plans to organize a Free complete health check-up camp solely for senior citizens in the coming months. She said as the famous quote by Gro Brundtland, “You cannot tackle hunger, disease and poverty unless you can also provide people in which their economies can grow” Samarpan needs volunteers who want to be a part of this initiative and who can give a piece of their valuable time for the numerous services which the trust is willing to offer to the underprivileged and needy. She requested the people to lend their helping hand in whatever means they can and help SAMARPAN help those who are in need.
