MAINTENANCE OF PARKS IN DWARKA

On the initiative taken by Shri Rajesh Gehlot, Councillor and also a member of Delhi Development Authority, for the maintenance of parks in Dwarka, the Dwarka Forum is compiling the list of parks, which require maintenance. From the feed-back received so far, the general complaint is about the absence of lights and maintenance. It was decided in a meeting between DDA and Councilor held on 17th Dec. that in all the main marks, floodlights would be provided.


From the over 25 feed-back received, it is observed that some parks are really in a very bad condition. Ms. Ragini Malhotra has informed that from the park behind plot No. 4 to 6 in Sector 10, thieves have entered in HMM Society thrice. A member has informed that the park in Sec. 6 between Kalka and Bahawalpur Apartment is in awful condition as there is no lights, no pruning of trees, Complete jungle and the entrance to the park has become the garbage dumping ground besides the conditions of walking path is deplorable. Group Captain P V Singh has informed the park between Air Force & Naval Officers Enclave is stinking as there is garbage all around and no body attend to this park. Bhagwan Jamwal has informed that the park in sec-7 between the boundaries of Harsukh and Kamal Vihar is without a gate facing service road and is in totally dilapidated condition without jogging tracks light and grass. It is a wild open area. Another member has informed that in the park in sector 7 along the boundary of DDA SFS, Pocket–2, there is no maintenance, boundary wall is damaged, Park is being used as a passage and it is a complete barren land without lights and entrance gate. It is in totally dilapidated condition. It is a wild open area with animals grazing therein most of the time. A member has informed that the park in Sector 13, near Mahabhadrakali apartment is a full of bushes and snakes and a temple is built there. Pradeep Bist has informed that in the park in front of Sec. 11 metro station, people prepare food in the polluting the park. M. K. Gupta has informed that there is no light, shelter or toilet in the sector 10 parks despite verbal assurance by the authorities for these facilities. One resident has said that in the park in Sec. 22 near Bank Vihar, the boundary fencing with KG of steel is vanished (theft)

However, one member has stated that the park in sector 9, near Shri Radha Apartment was earlier a jungle and area for miscreants but it has now been cleared and maintenance work had started and one or two swings are there but the park is not leveled. 

The residents can inform about the non-maintained parks to the Dwarka Forum on its email address Dwarka-residents@googlegroups.com . The list is being finalized by Ms. Sudha Iyer, Governing Body member of the registered forum and probably the biggest on line discussion group of over 2100 members in Dwarka.
