My son is studying in Maxfort Dwarka from last three years since beginning of this Branch. We are completely satisfied with their education system.
I have attended all PTMs, other school events during this these three years and not found a single parent who has shown any dis-satisfaction with the education system of school or changed the school of their kid from Maxfort to some other school. We know many parents who have recommended this school to their relatives based on their own experience. In fact, we recently came across one parent who admitted their younger son in VIS, Sec 18 recently (elder daughter is studying in Maxfort) and in their own comparison, VIS is more non-academic things focused than Maxfort - e. g. monthly Picnic for Nursery class kids, which happens only twice or thrice a year in Maxfort.
Also, one of my friend's wife who is teacher in DPS Sushant-lok and his daughter studying in DPS Sushant-lok. Whatever I have learned from him, I am not finding any difference in education pattern of two schools (at least for Nursery – First class). Looks like slowly DPS is also changing their education pattern.
While, unlike all other schools, this school name doesn't include 'International', with my experience with school (and overseas), the school made a fine balance between Indian and European Education standards. I don't know to what extent other schools have made their education system 'International'.
Some pros and cons of the school are :
Pros -
Good Student Teacher ratio. No class have more than 30 students, which means more manageable class and more personal attention on all students in the class.
From Class Nursery to Class One, there are two teachers and one maid in every class of 30 students.
During Nursery to Class One, focus is more on 'development of students creativity and learning while playing' than forcing students for mugging the books or ABCD e.g.
Students are encouraged to draw pictures/drawings with their own thinking and as they visualize rather than forcing teacher's own thinking on them, think and develop their own small stories which in turn helps kids in development of their own ideas, thinking skills, think and speak any five sentences on their favorite toy rather than teaching them mugging five line on COW or on MY SCHOOL or answers to the question at the back of every lesson in the book.
Which in turn help students to be more self confident and versatile to face any kind of situation.
There are no formal exams, however Revision Exercises and surprise class tests happens. This does not put exam pressure on students while at the same time their level of learning is also checked.
As the class level increases, the education pattern is more closer and slowly aligned with CBSE pattern.
Home-work is given but just in right quantity and which students can do it by their own. Not too much home-work for students (or Parents). Not carrying too many books/writing books every day. One to three pager assignments are given every-day.
During vacations, no home-work for parents (like other schools). Its minimum and of the type which students can complete themselves.
Equal and fair chance of participation for every student in the class in any group/class event.
No ad-hoc extra charges from parents during whole year (for picnics or school events) unlike other schools. Whatever is charges as Annual Fund or quarterly fee, everything is managed out of that only.
No influence towards any particular religion. School prayers are neutral to any religion.
Counselor (who is psychologist as well) to help kids in adjusting in school environment and counsellings of parents (she helped my kid as well). We have not seen her from last couple of months, hope, she must be there in school.
Cons -
The tuition fee is a bit high in comparison of other Dwarka schools. However, good educations comes at cost. Smaller Playground. At the time of admission three years back, school promised that they would be coming up with School – Parent Portal, which is not yet done.
At the end of first year (when my kid completed Nursery class), after comparing the education system with other schools, my wife also had similar concern that the school is not focusing much on formal education and met School Director Ms. Deepa Kumar. I got convinced with her talks that why it happens that if the Essay is on COW, that is in the syllabus, however, if one has to right it on 'The LION' it is out of syllabus (because it was not thought in the class) OR writing letter to School Teacher or local counselor is in syllabus, but writing letter to Prime-Minister of India is out of syllabus. The school help students to learn the concepts and help them facing for any kind of situation rather than focusing on our old conventional method of teaching (rather I would say mugging).
I am completely satisfied now. Today my six and half year old kid can develop and write small sentences in English by his own, have good understanding of sounds and spellings, 90% of the times spelling are correct for words he is learning first time (which he develops by his own after analyzing the sound coming out the word, not mugging), can speak fairly good English (well it depends on his mood as well), good mathematical concepts. Out of his own curiosity, he has learn so much about Solar system and Universe at this age itself.
In fact we have seen students getting transformed in this school. We know one kid who admitted to the school three years back in class four (now she is in class six), an average student in the class and no well educated background and environment at home, no confidence while speaking, not able to speak English at-all, but now she is completely transformed, the personality of the kid is changed, can speak English very fluently and can speak well and with confidence to express what she want to say. All this can't happen if school doesn't focus on students and their personal development.
And all this I am not writing and telling because my kid is studying in this school, but this is based on my actual experience with the school. I had many options at the time of admission of my kid (In fact we took a big risk of leaving admission in three schools, where he was shortlisted, before the formal admission process started in Maxfort), but chosen this school because we were satisfied with the education pattern, school was very fair in their dealing, they told in the beginning itself how they will teach and my kid was more happy when we came to this school.
In my opinion, one should go for the school where your kid should feel more happy going there. If he/she is happy, they will learn things fast.
Some more coments/ queries:
A school has a capacity to accommodate certain no of children. Every body can not get his child admitted in same school. I suggest to go to Basava International School in Sector 23. That area has three schools in a row. This school having an ex Principal of DPS Noida. The School belongs to a huge educational society "K L E" (Now a University) at Maglore, Karnataka which runs over 150 educational institutions. This is the first institute in North India. Raj Kumar
If you think that there problems in getting admissions of your children in schools or there is need for improvement in the system, please do write to the Education Minister in Sheila Dikshit's new Council. You will be helping hundreds of parents all over Delhi. You can expect improvements before the General Elections. This is the desired objective of the Central govt. under UPA.

My son is studying in St Gregorios in Sector 11, Their charges are quite affordable and in fact lesser than all other schools. In fact, last year, they reduced the Tuition fees! which is never heard of in other schools. The only complaint that my son makes is that they do not give enough time to play. (But I must say here, that my son keeps playing for hours together on holidays and really, I feel his complaint is not that much worth.) Education wise its quite good and a well disciplined school. I also agree about St Gregorios in Sector 11 and first enquire there. Unfortunately they don't have nursery classes here and only with their Janakpuri branch. Here have from class 1. Many people suggested about this school and my personal experience while interacting with staffs etc was very good.
people were suggesting for Bal Bharti and DPS as well. I applied in all Bal Bharti, DPS and St. Marry. My daughter's name is in Bal Bharti list and in St. Marry both. DPS has not published any list yet.
I don;t know about Dwarka Bal Bharti much but in other area its now big name only as got feedback from parents.
My daughter is in Mother's pride and putting her there was a biggest mistake I made. Now I do not want to go by brand and repeat same mistake again.
If any one want to put their child in playschool, pls never put in Mother's pride. This is one of the worst play school who promise big and later torture innocents. Ranjeet
